AIR CARGO & BULK SHIPPING CONTAINERS.

Sometimes referred to as Air Cargo Containers, these heavy-duty shipping containers meet all Air Transportation Association (ATA) specifications. They are commonly used by freight consolidators (air and truck freight) and, because of their ability to handle extra heavy shipments, are a cost-effective.Moving Containers Shipping

VARIETY FOR EVERY NEED: DPS’ bulk shipping containers come in four styles — EH, E, D and LDN. Each accommodates different size loads with varying gross weight capacities. All utilize stitched (stapled) joints and are specifically made to handle heavier loads.  DPS  largest sizes — D and LDN — come complete with wood pallets and are “knocked down flat” for easy storage.

AIR CARGO & BULK SHIPPING CONTAINERS

  1. EH Container: Manufactured from 200-pound test double-wall corrugated fiberboard. Designed with an FOL bottom and POL top for enhanced strength and durability. Utilizes one-piece construction with stitched joint. EH dimensions of 35 x 20-3/4 x 20-1/4 (outside dimensions) yields a total volume of 8 cubic feet. Made to handle a maximum gross weight of 300 pounds.

  2. E Container: Manufactured from 200-pound test double-wall corrugated fiberboard and, as the related EH version, contains an FOL bottom with POL top. This, together with the E container’s one-piece construction and stitched joint assembly, guarantees its heavy-duty capability, even when fork-lifting or stacking with other heavy loads. E container size of 42 x 29 x 25-1/2 (outside dimensions) yields a total volume of 17 cubic feet. This bulk shipping container is made to handle a maximum gross weight of 500 pounds. D Container: Manufactured from 350-pound test double-wall corrugated fiberboard. Five-piece, heavy-duty construction includes a top, bottom, two-piece middle and a wood pallet. D container size of 58 x 41 x 45 (outside dimensions) yields a total volume of 60 cubic feet. Made to handle gross weights over 1,500 pounds.

  3. LDN Container: Like the related D container, the LDN is manufactured from 350-pound test double-wall and utilizes a five-piece, heavy-duty construction (i.e., top, bottom, two-piece middle and wood pallet). LDN dimensions of 54 x 54 x 56 (inside dimensions) yields a total volume of 92 cubic feet. Made to handle gross weights over 1,800 pounds.

  4. Both D and LDN containers come “knocked down flat” for easy storage. Full telescoping top and bottom pieces provide storage for middle pieces and pallet until ready for set-up and use.
The two container dimensions are :
20ft L x 8ft W x 8ft H
Capacity : 31 Cubic Meters
1159 Cubic Foot
Max Weight 40,00lbs

40ft L x 8ft W x 8ft H
Capacity : 67 Cubic Meters
2377 Cubic Foot
Max Weight 40,00lbs

If you do not have access to a dock or warehouse please note the container sits on a chassis 4ft high off the ground

When loading a container on a public road please check with local Police and your City if a permit is required ? Advise all neighbors of the dates your container will be parked

Also check for accessibility, the truck is 14ft high and a 40ft container become 50ft plus, therefore no narrow roads, low trees and adequate turning space for the driver is a requirement.

Lift-Vans

  • Constructed of plywood with a 2-inch by 4-inch wooden frame. Skids are attached to the bottom of the container so it can be handled by a forklift. Lift-vans are usually lined with water-resistant paper and may be caulked as necessary to keep your goods dry. After caulking, steel straps are placed around the outside to secure the lift-van.

  • Standard sizes are 185 to 210 cubic feet. Other sizes can be built to hold bulky items.

  • Generally used if total shipment weighs less than 4,000 pounds.

  • Can be used for storage as well as transportation, which prevents additional handling.

  • Can easily be inspected for customs clearance.

  • Preferred when the destination country lacks the capacity to handle

Lift vans, cargo vans, shipping tanks, pallets and certain articles used in the shipment of goods in international traffic are designated as "instruments of international traffic" by the Customs Service. So long as this designation applies, they are not subject to entry or duty when they arrive. Whether they are loaded or empty. Holders of merchandise, but of a different class, may also be designated as instruments of international traffic upon application to the Commissioner of Customs. However, any article designated as an instrument of international traffic must be entered and duty paid, if applicable, if it is diverted to a domestic use.

Containers specially shaped or fitted to contain a specific article or set of articles, suitable for long term use and entered with the articles for which they are intended, are classifiable with the accompanying articles if they are of a kind normally sold therewith. Examples of such containers are: camera cases, musical instrument cases, gun cases, drawing instrument cases, and necklace cases. This rule does not apply to containers which give the importation as a whole its essential character.

Subject to the above rule, packing materials and packing containers entered with goods packed in them are classified with these goods if they are of a kind normally used for packing such goods. However, this does not apply to packing materials or containers that are clearly suitable for repetitive use.
